Solar power plant 2700W for a summer cottage on an island with a 5kW inverter Comment

Solar power plant 2700W for a summer house on an island with a 5kW inverter

Location: Russia, Republic of Tatarstan, island on the Volga 20 km from Kazan
Task: Autonomous power supply for a country house
Type: Hybrid solar power plant
Installation time: 5 o’clock

About the object

A solar power plant project for autonomous power supply to an entire summer cottage where there is no centralized power supply.

The solar panels were planned to be installed on the roof of the bathhouse, which is located away from trees and tall buildings, so to obtain the maximum possible energy production, a 2700W solar panel array was installed in combination with a hybrid solar inverter with a built-in MPPT charge controller. The system was assembled at 48V. The inverter also operates on 48V.

What should work from solar panels:

  • Double chamber refrigerator
  • LCD TV
  • Laptop, PC
  • Wi-Fi router
  • Music Center
  • Lighting
  • Water pump
  • Recharging smartphones, tablets, laptops and other gadgets

About equipment

  • Solar panels Delta BST 450-72HC – 6 pcs., monocrystalline, power 450W
  • Inverter SILA PRO 5000ML – hybrid solar inverter with an output power of 5000W and a rated voltage of 48V, with a pure sine output, with a mixing function
  • Battery: Delta GEL 12-150 – 4 pcs., GEL technology, 12V, capacity 150Ah
  • Fastening kit for 6 panels – 1 pc., aluminum rails 4 pcs, 3.4 m each with a full set of fasteners
  • Connector for parallel connection of three strings of MC4-T3 panels
  • Solar cable 2*6mm2
  • Charge balancer for 4 batteries – 1 piece

The hybrid solar inverter included in the kit of this solar power station will work in tandem with a 5 kW gasoline generator. The generator is connected to the hybrid inverter through an inverter stabilizer. The use of the generator is planned only in late autumn, at the end of the summer season, on long cloudy and rainy days. As soon as an external ~220V power supply from the generator appears, the inverter will begin, to help the solar panels, charge the battery, and will also transfer all the power to the generator, i.e. the inverter will operate in bypass mode.

About the installation and installation of solar panels at the dacha

Solar panels were installed in one row on the roof of the bathhouse. The roof angle is 40 degrees. Aluminum rails were used to attach the solar panels. The roof rails were attached to the roof through an L-shaped fastening using sealing gaskets.
